Continuing with the Myers Briggs and Jesus theme from my earlier post, I’d like to focus more on Jesus than myself. I remember, while going through a Christian internship program one summer as a teen, learning about personality temperaments. I found it fascinating to discover how different each of us were. And of course, we began talking about Jesus, because, you know, it is a Christian internship program.
Some time ago I received this “privilege” test and upon reviewing it, I was enlightened and yet was provoked by it as well.
We tend to read the creation narrative as if it were the first story recorded. The obvious reason is it happens to be in the beginning of the bible. Also, it makes sense to put a story of origins there. Creation has to come before anything else. But, what if the creation story wasn’t about the origins of all things? What if there’s a deeper meaning behind this narrative?
I believe there is.
